Mom’s 85th Birthday Party / Easter Celebration
March 27th, 2005
It was such a lovely day, we ventured outside for our dessert. There was a slight breeze, so I offered my shawl to Mom. We sang Happy Birthday, but the wind kept blowing out the candles. Oh well!
We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon, sitting in the sunshine & playing bocce.
The garden gnome under the bench is in memory of Mary Boyd, Linda’s ex-mother-in-law who died last month. It used to live in her garden, but now enjoys the view in ours.
We had a festive celebration at our house on Easter Sunday – toasting GrannyMia's 85th birthday on the day before, March 26th. It was a fine day for an early get together. Mom arrived around noon, brunch was on the menu. Lucky for us, all the local family was able to gather for the special occasion. (We missed you, Linda & Co.!) Despite Mom’s being the guest of honor, Barry & Claudia’s grandson Connor stole the show.
Connor got a new book, and had no problem getting people to sit & read.

Karl’s girlfriend Lisa assists in the futile lighting of the candles.
I insisted on a family picture.

Happy Birthday, Mom! Thanks for bringing us all together – let’s do it again next year!
